Sprain
Sprains are injuries to a ligament, which are most commonly caused by fall and or twists. Ligaments are tissue connecting bone to the joint. Most sprains occur at the ankle, fingers, knees, or wrist. Pain, swelling and restricted movement of the joint are the common signs of a sprain
Laceration and Cuts
Lacerations/cuts happen when a sharp object cuts the skin open. Some lacerations can be deep and/or irregular in shape. Many occur while performing regular activities like cooking, cleaning, playing, repairing, etc. Symptoms such as pain, bleeding, swelling, and bruising may occur. Sutures or staples may be needed and should be determined by your healthcare provider.
Animal bites
If bitten by an animal, medical attention may be necessary. If not treated on time some bites can become infected.
Exposure to a bat can be worrisome and should have prompt treatment. The need for prophylaxis treatment may be needed and decided by a healthcare provider. If you have concerns on exposure to rabies, call our office immediately or come in person to see us.
